da Vinci Robotic Hysterectomy

A hysterectomy is the surgical removal of the uterus. It may be total, that is the fundus and cervix of the uterus or partial which is the removal of the uterine body but leaving the cervical stump. Hysterectomy may be performed for a variety of reasons such as certain types of reproductive system cancers and severe endometriosis. Dr. Hayes is able to perform a more effective and minimally-invasive hysterectomy through the use of the da Vinci Robotic Surgery system. Through tiny, 1-2 cm incisions using the da Vinci System, she can operate with greater precision and control, minimizing the pain and risk associated with large incisions while increasing the likelihood of a fast recovery and excellent clinical outcomes.
